I am grateful that Family Friendly Gaming was provided a download
code for TV Sports Soccer on the iPhone and iPad. This iOS downloadable
only hand held video game is like an endless runner that is also a
soccer game. Does that make sense? Players get the ball and are always
on offense in TV Sports Soccer. They must score a goal, and then start
the process all over on a new field.
If one of the defending player steals the ball from your player, or if
they catch one of your shots then it is game over. The higher your score
in TV Sports Soccer the better. In a way this $2.99 app has an arcade
feel to it. There is a sense of accomplishment to get through as many
fields as possible in TV Sports Soccer on the iOS devices. I enjoyed my
time with TV Sports Soccer.
The controls in TV Sports Soccer took me a few tries to understand. The
right side of the screen is where you must tap or swipe to pass/shoot
the ball. The left side of the screen is where you press to change the
direction of your player. TV Sports Soccer is one of those apps that is
screaming for a controller scheme. TV Sports Soccer would work
marvelously on the Wii U, Nintendo 3DS, Playstation Vita, PS3, PS4, and
Xbox One. I hope this app gets ported over.
TV Sports Soccer has a blocky look to the characters. The fields range.
Some have bright colors, and others are more dull. Families can pick
which color they want their team to be. There is also a leaderboard if
you are into comparing yourself to others. I do not care where I rank
among other players. It does not help me enjoy the game. In fact it
usually depresses me.
TV Sports Soccer is a fun little app that takes a couple of things and
makes them work well together. I love the idea of getting to score over
and over again in TV Sports Soccer. There is an excitement, build up as
I tried again, and excitement again. Every so often there was
disappointment as I made a mistake and had to stop there. Players are
rewarded for passing three times in a row before scoring. I hope to see
sequels to TV Sports Soccer in the future.
