The Fight Within

Family Friendly Gaming was given a DVD of The Fight Within in a clear case. This faith based film breaks down all kinds of barriers. The Fight Within is a movie based around an MMA character (Logan Chandler). His father (Dan the Beast Severn) pushes him to his limits. The one time the son pushes back is when his dad has a heart attack. So he lives his life angry and wracked with guilt.

The Fight Within is a PG-13 movie. There is violence, blood, lack of attire, enticement to lust, ring girls, and more. The Fight Within also asks a variety of questions. Who are you? What is God's will for my life? Does God exist? Is fighting okay? Were there fighters in the Holy Bible? Do we live for ourselves or do we live for others? What are we trying to prove? Who we are is more than what we do.

There are some funny lines in The Fight Within that we enjoyed here at Family Friendly Gaming. I am somewhat educated in the mixed martial arts world. I learned a few things in the past from a ninjutsu. The MMA transitions in this movie were excellent. The training scenes in The Fight Within were awesome. One of the best parts of the film. I wish there was a catchy song that went along with it. The music in The Fight Within is average. Some amazing songs that fit the theme would have really put it over.

There is actual bonus materials in the disc Family Friendly Gaming was provided. You don't know how rare that is with a screener like disc. The Fight Within has bonus interviews and out takes. The out takes were exceptionally funny. The old homeless looking man character is very interesting in The Fight Within. He had sage advice for the young fighter trying to avoid fighting. At times I thought he was an angel.

The slow growth and progression of Logan Chandler in The Fight Within is very realistic. Many people slowly turn toward faith as they realize how empty and hollow everything else is in this world. Others have drastic changes like Saul becoming Paul (hey a 'S' going into a 'P' is pretty major). Logan has to deal with being the younger brother, and his older brother taking care of paying the bills. He has to deal with the guilt of the death of their father. There is a gym to be run.

The Fight Within promotes mission trips and going to church. In one interesting scene Logan asks his girlfriend Emma Jones when she will invite him to church. Emma is led to go to Africa and serve. There is a wonderful discussion about helping out the people in our country first. The Fight Within deals with morals and ethics, as well as definitions in a way that are easy to understand.
