The Lion Guard Return of the Roar

I had never heard of the Lion Guard before being provided a press release to publish. I am very thankful Family Friendly Gaming was provided a retail version of The Lion Guard Return of the Roar on DVD. This forty-four minute long movie continues the story from the Lion King. Simba is all grown up with a girl cub, and a boy cub. The boy cub Kion inherits the powerful roar of the elders. Which makes him the head of the new Lion Guard.

Part of The Lion Guard Return of the Roar is Kion showing his father that the Lion Guard does not need to be made up of just lions. Other animals become members of the lion guard and save the day at the end of the movie. The lion guard is there to protect the pride lands, and the circle of life. Ghosts of lions from the past help Kion in the roar of the elders.

The lion guard in The Lion Guard Return of the Roar is made up of Beshte the strongest, Bunga the bravest, Kion the fiercest, Ono the keenest of sight, and Fuli the fastest. We also get visits from other well known Lion King characters in The Lion Guard Return of the Roar. I will leave that as a surprise. If you look at the back cover of this DVD then you will know who I am talking about.

The Lion Guard Return of the Roar has great animation. The camera cuts away from violent parts. The music is nice. There is a bonus music video with a very catchy song. The Lion Guard Return of the Roar also comes with a talking backpack pull. It is shaped like Kion's head. The voice acting is a bit on the tame side for me personally. The songs make up for that.

I enjoyed my time with The Lion Guard Return of the Roar. So did the younger members of the family. Please note that watching The Lion Guard Return of the Roar can make some kids run around acting like animals, and thinking they can do everything an adult can do. Which lead to a conversation about acting like your own species and stop acting like what you saw on a television screen.
