Word Puzzles by POWGI

I am very thankful Family Friendly Gaming was provided a download code for Word Puzzles by POWGI on the Wii U. This downloadable only video game was set up with a cross-buy promotion. Meaning it can be played on the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS. Which is a neat feature to see included on the Nintendo side. Note Sony has had that functionality for some time now.

Word Puzzles by POWGI also works with every single amiibo. Families can play a fun mini game with each of the amiibos they own. Words that may or may not be related to the amiibo are on the screen. Well the hang man kind of dashes are. Then the player must pick from the letters to spell the words on the screen. Families can press L + R for a hint - like the first letter of each word.

There are six word games in Word Maze, Mixups, One Word, Flowers, Circles, and Crossovers. Word Maze is where families snake along spelling the words one after another. Mixups is an anagram puzzle with three words all jumbled together. One Word is where families find one word in there. Flowers is where families spell six letter words by putting something to the left and right while the middle letters stay the same. Circles is where there are letters in three overlapping circles, and players spell words connected in the circles. Crossovers is a crossword like puzzle game with multiple words, and players must pick the right letter that finishes all the words that intersect.

I really like Word Puzzles by POWGI. There are plenty of fun and cool puzzles in Word Puzzles by POWGI. Families can spend many hours playing Word Puzzles by POWGI. Flowers is the only game in Word Puzzles by POWGI that I am not fond of. It never told me when I got a word right, and there were no hints. The rest of the games have wonderful hints that make it more approachable.

Word Puzzles by POWGI looks good, and sounds good. I am happy to see Lightwood Games continuing to publish family friendly video games. Word Puzzles by POWGI is fun, and different enough to warrant a look on the Nintendo eShop. The cross buy functionality in this downloadable only video game is neat to see. I hope we see more of that in the future. I also love how every amiibo works with Word Puzzles by POWGI
