Worms W.M.D.

Family Friendly Gaming was provided a digital download code for Worms W.M.D on the Xbox One. We were also provided a digital download code for Worms W.M.D on Steam. However the game was glitchy and did not work right for us. We requested a copy of the game on the Xbox One. The PR person was kind enough to supply us a code. Which was awesome. I wanted to be sure to give full disclosure there.

UK gamers are so fortunate. They will be able to purchase a physical copy of Worms W.M.D. Please note it has a PEGI twelve and older only rating, while the ESRB says ten and older only. The level of violence in Worms W.M.D makes me think it fits better with PEGI's rating. Why didn't the ESRB go with the thirteen and older only rating? I can see Worms W.M.D as a 'T' rated game.

Crafting and vehicles are some of the focal points in Worms W.M.D. Crafting allows the player to create certain weapons that are needed for certain situations. Like an airstrike to hit a worm on the top of a tall building. Vehicles should speak for themselves. Certain buildings can also be entered in Worms W.M.D. Which is helping round this franchise out better. It also reminds me of some of the 3D Worms games from the past.

The main issues families will have with Worms W.M.D is the violence. There are all kinds of weapons and explosions. Once a worm dies he drops a grenade and after that explosion there is a tombstone left. I miss the angel wings and the worm going up into heaven. Not sure why that was removed. Plenty of war sounds, language issues, and death in Worms W.M.D.

Players can go through the tutorial levels to learn, play regular levels, take on challenges, play bonus levels, play online, or play by themselves in Worms W.M.D. The controls gave me fits. I don't know why the controls can't be more intuitive in Worms W.M.D. I hit the wrong button so many times and messed up my turn so many times. Worms W.M.D only allows a few mistakes before you will lose a level.

I lost quite a few levels in Worms W.M.D. I am obviously not very good at this game. I did not find a way to turn the other cheek, or make peace in Worms W.M.D. I had to kill them all or die in Worms W.M.D. Those are the two choices. Worms W.M.D tries to be funny and include a variety of different franchises. The junior high maturity level of humor is what families can expect in Worms W.M.D.
