1-2-Switch

Since Nintendo’s PR and Marketing people flaked out on Family Friendly Gaming Universe yet again I spent my own money on 1-2-Switch. I thought this game was going to be a disappointment. This is one of those times I hate being right. There are twenty-eight tech demo mini games in 1-2-Switch. The game is selling for fifty dollars. Way overpriced.

1-2-Switch is cool for about ten minutes. The mini games are so short that we felt cheated all of the time. Then there are collision detection issues and complaints. Table Tennis and Quick Draw are two great examples of this. Sword Fight and Samurai Training are two more that come to mind. Trying to figure out how many balls are in the box are just annoying on so many levels.

There is religious content like Zen in 1-2-Switch. It compliments magic in Wizard Battle. Milk A Cow is one of the interesting gems in 1-2-Switch. I am not that big on how it controls though. 1-2-Switch shows us how the Joy Con Controllers can be used. I personally believe this game should be selling for no more than twenty dollars brand new. We do get some exercise in some of the mini games. 1-2-Switch is a short experience that none of us want to go back to.

Nintendo is pushing togetherness with 1-2-Switch. Which is fine with me. The problem is 1-2-Switch only allows for two family members to play together at a time. We are also constantly having to swap around the Joy Con controller configuration for certain mini games. Taking care of the Baby is a great example of this. Also an interesting idea.

1-2-Switch is pretty heavy on the dancing mini games. Again we go back to the controls issue we ran into with 1-2-Switch. This game should have come free with the system.
