36 Fragments of Midnight
SCORE: 67
Family Friendly Gaming was provided a digital download code for 36
Fragments of Midnight on the Nintendo Switch. This indie action
adventure puzzle video game is also available on the Personal Computer
(PC), and Playstation Vita (PS Vita). Midnight's friends lost their star
fragments. The player must go around and find thirty-six of these star
fragments.
The dungeons in 36 Fragments of Midnight are procedurally generated in a
random fashion. That means some areas look the same, and some will do
different things. No need to memorize the maze area collecting the star
fragments. We play as a white square with eyes in 36 Fragments of
Midnight. This large pixel character can move around and double jump.
Graphically 36 Fragments of Midnight is very indie. There are some
really neat lighting effects if you look for them. The sounds are like
listening to the wind blow. There are a few ditties when you die. I do
not know what happens when you get all thirty-six star fragments. The
most I got was in the twenties. One mistake and it is game over in 36
Fragments of Midnight.
There are plenty of hazards in 36 Fragments of Midnight. If you take
your time then you should be okay. Gears and lasers were my biggest
concerns. I also had problems double jumping if I made one long jump
first. Maybe there is a limit on how far you can go before a double jump
will work. There are also blind falls that always made me nervous. It is
possible to blind fall to your death.
36 Fragments of Midnight has no blood or gore. The graphics are
generally in darker tones. The star fragments, and the main character
contrast that with their lights. I loved seeing those lighting effects
in 36 Fragments of Midnight. If you like to practice and get better then
36 Fragments of Midnight might be a downloadable video game for you.
This game can be challenging at first.
