A Hat in Time
SCORE: 70
Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital download code for A Hat in
Time on the Playstation 4 before the game came out. This downloadable
only 3D action adventure platformer is also available on the Personal
Computer, and Xbox One. I found no information at this time of a
physical copy of A Hat in Time on any of the mentioned systems. My
apology to the millions of upon millions of gamers in the physical copy
movement.
A Hat in Time is bright and colorful. Something about the graphical
style made my head feel funny. A little girl with a hat is on a journey
across space. Where are her parents? She loses fuel when a Mafia guy
breaks in through the window. Yes they are out in space. How is this
Mafia guy breathing? How does the little girl survive a fall from space?
So many questions in this short video game.
There are five worlds to play in A Hat in Time. We are given missions to
accomplish in A Hat in Time. Some can be beaten quickly. If you take the
time to explore a bit you can find yarn. What does yarn get you? New
hats that will give your little girl new abilities. Anyone else creeped
out about playing a little girl? Sure I don't mind playing a little girl
in a My Little Pony game, but in a game like this one. It just feels
odd, off, and weird.
I ran into some odd glitches here and there in A Hat in Time. There are
also numerous places where a gamer can get stuck. If that were not bad
enough the jumping can get weird at times. Thankfully this character can
wall run - for a bit at least. What are short video games known for?
Extreme difficulty. A Hat in Time is really easy until you face a boss.
Then you better dust off those Olympic skills. I know others who gave up
on A Hat in Time during the first boss. Here is a thought - not everyone
wants to spend hours trying to beat one boss.
The issues families can have with A Hat in Time is violence, alcohol,
gambling, tobacco, crude humor, strange characters, and more. Why is
there a little girl with a mustache in A Hat in Time? More stuff that
just creeped me out. A Hat in Time never really encouraged me to explore
the areas. Which is a shame. I do not want to see sequels to A Hat in
Time.
