Chess Ultra
SCORE: 80
A digital download code for Chess Ultra on the Nintendo Switch was
provided to Family Friendly Gaming. All we had to do was pay for the
publishing of a press release concerning the game's release. There is
obviously an expectation that the game would be played and a review
would be written. Family Friendly Gaming sure spends a lot on helping
other companies garner success. I would think all kinds of
advertisements would come in to show gratitude. I supposed my
expectations are too high.
Chess Ultra has a Single Game, Tournament, Challenges, Tutorials,
Options, Challenges, and Paid DLC. There is no physical copy version of
Chess Ultra on the Nintendo Switch at this time. Or at least not one I
was able to find in my research. The challenges in Chess Ultra are
Historic, Mate in 1, Mate in 2, Mate in 3, Mate in 4, Mate in 5, Mate in
6, and Mate in 7. I messed around with Mate in 1, and there are ten
challenges.
When a game is played it can be played in four locations, there are four
piece types, and they are made in three materials. Timers can be
implemented and two family members can play one another in Chess Ultra.
The music in Chess Ultra is very nice. The music in Chess Ultra is
soothing, relaxing, and sleep inducing. I wanted to nap after listening
to the music in Chess Ultra.
Chess Ultra is on a variety of different systems. I was so hoping to see
someone lick the nasty tasting Nintendo Switch cartridge for Chess
Ultra, I also thought it would be cool for Family Friendly Gaming to do
an Unboxing video of Chess Ultra. Sadly those things can not happen at
this exact moment in history. Maybe in the future. Plenty of other
companies have enacted change after Family Friendly Gaming brought up
the topic.
If you are looking for a downloadable only chess game on the Nintendo
Switch then you might want to check out Chess Ultra. Ripstone has been
making chess games for some years now. They know how to design one. I
would love to see some cool chess set pieces in Chess Ultra. Maybe a
Super Mario Bros chess set. That would make perfect sense on the
Nintendo Switch to me. If it happens Family Friendly Gaming should be
paid royalty fees since we copyrighted the idea right here.
