Digimon Adventure Tri Confession

Every so often we wonder what is going on over at Shout Factory. We used to get all kinds of stuff from them. Then it stopped with no notification or explanation. Then the Digimon Tri movies started to come. Digimon Adventure Tri Confession is the third one and we are really getting into this interesting franchise. First off I love how it is movies that all connect and tell the same story.

It takes 102 minutes to watch Digimon Adventure Tri Confession. There is also an Anime Expo 2017 premiere panel with cast members Joshua Seth, Colleen O'Shaughnessey and Jeff Nimoy. That was interesting. The movie is pretty slow in terms of pacing in the first hour. There are some teenage arguments that kept us awake. Then the action starts to kick in and the story actually progresses.

The infection of Digimon is the biggest concern in Digimon Adventure Tri Confession. They have a way of fixing it with a reboot. The problem with the reboot is the Digimon will forget their human friends. We also learn the source of the infection in Digimon Adventure Tri Confession. SPOILER ALERT! In the end of the movie the human teenagers go to the digital world. They find their Digimon in a young state, and the Digimon do not remember the humans.

The issues families can have with Digimon Adventure Tri Confession is violence, blood, lying, deceit, religious belief of evolution taught, super beings in the digital world, possession, enticement to lust, and lack of attire. I was pleasantly surprised that the bad content was toned way down in Digimon Adventure Tri Confession from the previous movies. Even the fighting was more about pushing a Digimon back into the digital world versus fighting it.

Digimon Adventure Tri Confession explores some interesting questions. If your Digimon goes evil will you put it down? If a dog goes rabid can you stop it from hurting others? There is still parts of Digimon Adventure Tri Confession where the text is still in Japanese. There is a food obsession by some of the characters in Digimon Adventure Tri Confession. There are characters with quite a bit of drama.

The voice acting in Digimon Adventure Tri Confession is good. The animation looks wonderful. I like how the story is unfolding in Digimon Tri. Digimon Adventure Tri Confession moved the story forward in an interesting way. If you like Digimon then you will most likely get into Digimon Adventure Tri Confession. There is a lot of concern about how certain characters feel in the first hour. Then they finally move past their loss and depression.
