Elena and the Secret of Avalor

I am thankful Family Friendly Gaming was sent a reviewable copy of Elena and the Secret of Avalor on DVD. This disc tells us the origins of princess Elena. Which is very cool to me. In fact there was a major shock when Elena and the Secret of Avalor started. Sophia the First frees princess Elena. So the first part of Elena and the Secret of Avalor is all about Sophia the First. I find this cross over to be very cool.

Elena and the Secret of Avalor contains magic, mild violence, mythical animals, evil witch, wizards, peril, fighting, a spirit animal and more. Parts of Elena and the Secret of Avalor feel like they were influenced by the Incan civilization and Peru. This includes the culture, people, civilization, ruins, and more. Even the flying jaguars known as the jaquins.

I must say Elena and the Secret of Avalor does a good job of showing a governmental overthrow, and rebellion with very little violence. In the real world there is a lot of bloodshed when a government is overthrown. Even more when rebels come in and take over or take back over. Elena and the Secret of Avalor is much safer for kids. Not as realistic though. So I am not sure where your opinion will come down on that content.

There are songs and dances in Elena and the Secret of Avalor. The songs in Elena and the Secret of Avalor did not impress me as much as the songs in the last DVD Disney sent to Family Friendly Gaming. One of the bonus features on Elena and the Secret of Avalor is a music video of "My Time." No it is not the same song as John Cena's intro music.

There is additional bonus content included with Elena and the Secret of Avalor. There are two bonus episodes. They are Prince Too Charming, and Royal Retreat. Elena and the Secret of Avalor teaches us to believe in ourselves, be good leaders, do not be all play and no work, protect animals, stop rich people, stop animals being put in zoos, fight for what you believe in, and more.
