Everybody Loves Somebody
SCORE: 60
Everybody Loves Somebody is about a female doctor (Clara) who thinks
she has it all, and is happy. She goes to her parents wedding. Her
parents had shacked up for forty years and then decided to get married.
She takes a date with her, and she also runs into her ex-boyfriend from
eight years ago. The ex-boyfriend had broken her heart when he left.
Because of that she has been just sleeping around.
We can see pretty quickly that Clara is miserable with her life. She
wants love. She wants happiness. She bases the men she meets on how they
make her feel. If they take her breath away and keep her breath away
forever then she will consider them. It is an impossible goal, and she
shows how little she really understands about love, true love. Clara has
to figure out how she feels and what she really wants.
I am thankful Lionsgate sent Family Friendly Gaming a copy of Everybody
Loves Somebody on DVD. This movie is mostly in Spanish with subtitles.
At times I was a bit confused as to why there was so much dialogue in
Spanish. It did not fit certain parts of Everybody Loves Somebody for
me. Every talking character in Everybody Loves Somebody spoke Spanish.
Even the Australian.
The issues families can have with Everybody Loves Somebody is lack of
attire, sexual situations (multiple times), enticement to lust, low
value on sex, bad language, sex outside of marriage, and more. Clara can
be brutally honest to others in what could easily be described as being
mean. She obviously hurts the feelings of other characters multiple
times. She apologizes and seeks forgiveness. Everybody Loves Somebody
also has multiple racial slurs, and references to daughters only dating
Mexicans.
I find it interesting that Clara has a lack of self control, and goes
all out with whatever guy she is with at the times. She obviously plans
things poorly. In the end she makes the right choice - at least in my
opinion. I will not spoil it for you though. It takes 106 minutes to
watch Everybody Loves Somebody. The only bonus content is trailers for
other movies that are also in Spanish.
