Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2
SCORE: 70
I am very thankful Disney sent Family Friendly Gaming a reviewable
copy of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 on Blu-ray + DVD + Digital. This
is a PG-13 movie. So the younger members of the family do not need to
see and hear some of the content in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. I am
thankful Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 scales a lot down from the first
movie. There is still room for improvement.
The issues families will have with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 is
blood, violence, profanity, lack of attire, and conversations revolving
around a sexual nature. The parts families will like about Guardians of
the Galaxy Vol 2 is the action, humor, and music. Star Lord finds his
father finally. He finds out his father is a celestial, which is defined
as a god in the Marvel universe with a little g.
Groot is amazing in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. In fact from the
start to finish all everyone wanted to see here at Family Friendly
Gaming was Groot. The intro scene with him is hilarious. Make sure you
stay through the credits to see Groot growing up. It looks like the next
movie will have a teenage Groot which could be very fun. I am super
excited to see the development of Groot.
The bonus content contained within Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 is
Inferno Music Video, Deleted Scenes, Gag Reel, Making of Guardians of
the Galaxy Vol 2, and Audio Commentary. That music video is awkward in
so many ways. It is in essences a 1970s music video done modern day. It
even has David Hasselhoff in it. There are numerous older big name movie
stars in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2.
The big lessons taught in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 is sometimes you
are looking for something your entire life and it was right in front of
you the entire time. I will not spoil the ending for you. I will say
that there are characters willing to sacrifice themselves for others.
There are also some interesting secrets revealed. Adam Warlock should be
coming in the next movie.
I love how Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 toned down the violence and the
bad language. I understand the violence in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol
2. The bad language makes no sense to me. Especially when we are out in
space. Why can't the writers be creative and make up swear words like
they did in Serenity? Words that would not offend families maybe. Just a
thought.
