Infinite Golf

Thank you Petite Games for giving Family Friendly Gaming a digital download code for Infinite Golf on the Nintendo 3DS. This hand held video game is selling for $1.99. There are two modes in Infinite Golf. The first is Endless Mode. In Endless Mode players shoot endlessly at each hole. You can rack up the score going through as many holes as you decide to go through.

The second mode in Infinite Golf is Arcade Mode. In Arcade Mode players have three balls. The goal is to beat as many levels as you can with just those three balls. The better you do on each hole, the longer you will be playing in Arcade Mode. Infinite Golf can be really fun in Endless Mode, and really frustrating in Arcade Mode. Strike that, I got frustrated in Endless Mode too.

Why would Infinite Golf frustrate me? The controls are the answer to that question. How does Infinite Golf control? We swipe on the touch screen. That means direction and speed are determined on how you swipe on the touch screen. Families have to play Infinite Golf all on feel. How do you feel the angle will work? How do you feel how large of a swipe is needed?

Some of the courses in Infinite Golf drove me nearly insane. Like straight up and down verticals where you ball gets stuck right by them. I could go straight up and come straight down. I had to smack into the wall hard enough to get myself away from it. I wasted numerous shots learning how to get by certain spots in Infinite Golf. The indie graphics did not bother me. Especially considering the price, and the digital only nature of this 3DS video game.

I love the music in Infinite Golf. It settled me down when I was having trouble with certain courses. Infinite Golf will only work on Nintendo 3DS XL devices. I tried it initially on an original Nintendo 3DS and it would not work at all. I enjoyed my time with Infinite Golf on the Nintendo 3DS. The levels felt like they randomly generated most of the time. Which is cool, but at times the same kind of a level would appear.
