League of Evil
SCORE: 60
My spider senses are tingling like I am in a warm blanket thanks to
Ratalaika Games sending Family Friendly Gaming a digital download code
for League of Evil on the Nintendo Switch. This indie game with retro
graphics is challenging. It starts easy, and gets more and more
difficult. League of Evil loves to throw new things at us. If you are
good enough you can double jump your way through the 140 levels.
I like the chiptune music in League of Evil. I also like the level
editor in League of Evil. Gamers that like to create their own game play
levels can do so with League of Evil. The music in League of Evil kept
me going after I died over and over again. Do you know what League of
Evil does for gamers? It lets them know how many times they have died in
that level. How nice of them. Thank you for compounding my failures.
The goal in League of Evil is to get through each of the levels and kill
the mad scientist. There are also briefcases in each of the levels. If
you can get the briefcase and the scientist then you can get two of the
three stars. I think the final star is awarded if you beat the level in
a certain amount of time. I do not think I am skilled enough to find out
in this 8-bit looking video game.
League of Evil contains blood and gore in it. When we kill guards, and
scientists then we see the blood and their head go flying. It was really
unnecessary in my opinion. It means the younger members of the family
need to be kept far, far away from League of Evil. This downloadable
only video game would have been so much better without that in my
professional opinion.
League of Evil has some interesting controls. We can jump, double jump,
wall slide, and wall jump. The controls are quick, and sometimes a bit
loose. It took me a few tries to get used to the controls in League of
Evil. The levels in League of Evil are generally pretty short and small.
The difficult part in League of Evil is avoiding all of the traps, and
enemies. Hardcore games will be very interested in League of Evil.
