Mechrunner

I want to recognize Spark Plug Games for giving Family Friendly Gaming a digital download code for Mechrunner on the Playstation 4. This downloadable only mech runner video game can also be found on the PC. I thought Mechrunner would have been an app when I first played it. We are in a mech that can convert into a tank. I felt like I was in Robotech or the Transformers.

One thing about Mechrunner that you can count on is grinding. You will need to replay levels to earn money. I noticed the levels felt very similar. The background does change in them. There are people to save in Mechrunner. They are carried until you reach one of your ship spots. Then you must get into that spot to have them beamed up like in Star Trek. Yes Mechrunner reminds me of numerous other franchises.

There are certain enemies in Mechrunner that will stop your forward progress. These enemies must be destroyed before you can move forward again. I wish I could have moved forward and backwards as well as left and right while fighting those enemies. They take a ton of bullets to defeat too. Players need to grind in Mechrunner to buy better weapons, and skins.

Mechrunner surprised me in the rating. With all of the violence I expected Mechrunner would have been given the thirteen and older only rating from the ESRB. I know plenty of families complain about the ESRB being out of touch, and not properly representing them. They will point to a game like Mechrunner as an example in terms of the rating and violent content.

I had trouble adapting to the controls in Mechrunner. Especially the targeting, and the multiple uses for L2 and R2. I found myself confused by the controls in Mechrunner. I also despise all of those cylinders that heal the enemies. Fighting them takes forever without those things getting in the way. If you like to repetitively shoot things while you are moving forward (most of the time), then you might be interested in Mechrunner. I was expecting something vastly different.
