A digital downloadable code for Mini Sports Collection was given to
Family Friendly Gaming. This is a Nintendo 3DS mini game compilation.
The games in Mini Sports Collection are 100-Meter Sprint, Pro Wrestling,
Skeet Shooting, Baseball, Speed Skating, Fencing, Rugby, Tennis, Soccer,
Archery, Hammer Throw, and Table Tennis. The worst grade you can receive
in Mini Sports Collection is a 'C'. You can score higher if you do good.
Some of mini games in Mini Sports Collection are fun, and cool. Others
are really difficult, frustrating, and annoying. Take Tennis and Table
Tennis for example. Those two mini games in Mini Sports Collection are
really difficult. I had problems scoring about a 'C' in those mini
games. Soccer and Archery are two of my favorite games in Mini Sports
Collection. They are fun.
The graphics in Mini Sports Collection remind me of flash games on the
Internet. The music is pretty good in Mini Sports Collection. The mini
games are generally over with very quickly. You can stretch a few of
them out. I had high hopes for fencing and pro wrestling personally.
They are timing or rock paper scissor based. Mini Sports Collection is
selling for $4.99 (at the time the review was written). In my opinion
that is high for what families receive.
I got a headache from playing Mini Sports Collection. I do get headaches
from other things so to be fair I can not be 100% sure Mini Sports
Collection is what gave me the headache. The mini games in Mini Sports
Collection are a nice mixture of different game play styles. The mini
game entry screen displays the controls. Some mini games I picked up
right away and others it took a few attempts.
I question the collision detection in tennis. Baseball has good
collision detection for hitting the ball. Then we use the circle pad or
the D-pad to power up the hit. I never figured out what kinds of
movements got me more power. The 100-Meter Sprint is an 'A' button
tapping game where getting a good jump can determine your placement. We
race it with cats too. Mini Sports Collection contains some good and
some bad. There is some mild violence found in this game.
