NeuroVoider
SCORE: 60
I send my appreciation and thankfulness that Family Friendly Gaming
was given a digital download code for NeuroVoider on the Nintendo
Switch. This indie video game can also be found on the PC, PS4, and Xbox
One. Hardcore gamers may get into NeuroVoider. I could find no
information on a physical copy of NeuroVoider on any of the mentioned
systems.
I found NeuroVoider to be difficult. Mainly because there are so many
enemies. I was constantly back pedaling to avoid taking a hit. Did that
strategy work all of the time? No it did not work all of the time. In
fact I found in the very first level that I could die and lose my
progress. Which was unfortunate. I was playing on the easiest setting
too. The settings are Arcade, Rogue, and Voider. I think Voider is there
for speed runs of failures.
The music is pretty nice in NeuroVoider. I liked listening to it while I
was blowing away all of these other robots. I wonder if they had brains
in them too? What am I talking about? The indie graphics in NeuroVoider
started out with a brain breaking free of a cylinder, and then hopping
over to armor. How exactly did a brain hop around? I wondered exactly
the same thing.
The two stick controls took a bit to get used to. Once I did I was
moving in one direction and shooting in a completely different
direction. I felt so accomplished. Well until I died yet again. Be sure
to save some of your scraps to repair your armor. Otherwise your health
stays the same when you start the next level. NeuroVoider is definitely
set up to give gamers a challenge.
For some reason when I went into these levels I was expected to blow up
the reactors. Why was I blowing up reactors? I am not exactly sure.
NeuroVoider encouraged me to do it. There are a variety of different
items that can be used in NeuroVoider. Some of them make this game a bit
easier to play. Self repair is one of them if you know what I mean. Be
sure to keep moving in NeuroVoider. A moving target is harder to hit.
