New Life
SCORE: 78
Family Friendly Gaming was treated to three copies of New Life on
DVD. We gave two of them away locally, and kept one to watch for this
review. New Life is a real tear jerkier of a movie about real life.
There are ups and downs in life. There are mountain top moments where
everything feels just right. There are valley moments where things do
not add up. New Life has all of them. The good and the bad in life. The
love and the arguments.
We human beings can be very selfish and self centered. We can get
focused on doing our chores and projects and not realized how rude we
are being to loved ones. Maybe they are trying to take care of something
else that is equally or more important. All we can see in our fit of
rage is we wanted help with something else. We also have to realize at
times we chase away others in our anger and then get mad that they are
not there at our beck and call.
New Life asks a variety of questions. What do we do with life? Live it.
What kind of priority do we give relationships? The top priority. Are
relationship worth all of the hard work? Is love hard work? Should love
be this difficult? What do you do when you lose track of what is
important? Can we lose our lives trying to make them better? What is
important to our loved ones?
There are plenty of bad moments in New Life. There are some adult
innuendos, cancer, lost baby, losing hair, cutting hair, death, and
more. There are also moments of triumph in New Life. There are moments
in New Life that deal with living again after the loss of a loved one. I
loved how New Life focused on trying to find the joy during the midst of
the storm. That can be a hard thing to do.
I enjoyed watching New Life. There are some humorous moments in this
movie. New Life never got preachy. Instead it shows us a way we can face
the problems in life. Numerous people have to walk this path. I am sure
most of them would choose to avoid it if they could. Especially after
seeing what it is like. Their strength and resolve can give us all hope
if we ever find ourselves on the same path.
