OK Golf
SCORE: 85
It is such a great thing that Family Friendly Gaming was given a
digital download code for OK Golf on the iPhone and iPad devices. This
golf video game has four areas with nine holes in each of them. OK Golf
is supposed to get additional areas in the future. OK Golf can be played
in three different ways. Those three ways are Free Play, Championship,
and Timed Mode.
As I write this review OK Golf is selling for $2.99. That is a one time
fee with no in-app purchases. This is something Family Friendly Gaming
Universe has asked for. So it is great to see. I had fun playing OK Golf
on the iPhone and iPad. OK Golf does not have realistic people, or golf
looking graphics. OK Golf does look better than blocky games like Crossy
Road for example. It is easy to see what trees, water, the flag, and
sand traps are in .
The music in OK Golf is subtle. I do enjoy listening to it and the golf
sounds in OK Golf. The controls involve holding, slightly moving around,
and pulling back. When you want to hit the golf ball all you need to do
is let go after you pulled back. OK Golf will show you right where the
ball will go. Which is something we have asked for here at Family
Friendly Gaming in all golf games. Too many modern golf games do not
show where the ball will go. There is no guessing in OK Golf.
The four areas in OK Golf at the time this review was written are Long
Lake County (Georgia, USA), Desert Canyon (Arizona, USA), Tsukimi Garden
(Kyoto, Japan), and Pahoehoe Ridge (Hawaii, USA). When families start to
play OK Golf the area Long Lake County is available. Stars are earned
based on how well you do. Then those stars unlock additional areas. I
had to replay levels multiple times to unlock all four areas.
I ran into a few issues here and there playing OK Golf. This app crashed
on me a few times (like every time I finished a timed or championship
section). I also had problems with the ball not always going where it
said it would. I wish there was a way to go back and retry that hit.
Especially when it is a par five and the game missed my shot that would
have given me an eagle. I also wish we would get an extra star for an
eagle over the birdie.
