Pinocchio

I am very thankful that Disney sent Family Friendly Gaming a copy of Pinocchio on Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD. The last time we reviewed Pinocchio was in 2009. January 2017 is the first time Pinocchio appears on Digital HD. The main movie is essentially the same. The bonus content is where this release of Pinocchio steps things up. I will get into that later in this review.

If you are whistling while thinking of Pinocchio then you know about the songs. The tunes are very catchy, and get stuck in your head. I can still hear a few of them right now. The verbal lessons teaching honesty are well received here at Family Friendly Gaming. Jiminy Cricket makes a wonderful conscious, and he encourages Pinocchio to go to school. Pinocchio’s innocence is portrayed perfectly.

Pinocchio teaches honesty, avoiding temptation, and doing the right thing. The storyline alone is something worthy of thousands of sequels. Not only that, I would like to see a sequel to Pinocchio. I would love to see this fantasy world again, and to see Pinocchio explore the world, and learn as a real boy. The magical element of becoming a real boy ignites the imagination. I will be recommending Pinocchio to friends, family, and pastors I know.

Pinocchio has some fantastic new bonus content. We see a new version of the Oswald Short Poor Papa. The Pinocchio Project When You Wish Upon A Star is fun for family members into music. Walt's Story Meetings Pleasure Island is fascinating for me personally since I am into history. In Walt's Words Pinocchio is another historical lesson that I find very fascinating.

Walt Disney was nearly bankrupt multiple times. He believed in quality over quantity. Pinocchio was originally made in 1940. The quality shines through today. As well as the lesson about the dangers of vices. Pinocchio teaches us smoking, and drinking are bad. So is running away and selfishly following your own desires. Pinocchio still teaches pertinent lessons today.
