Family Friendly Gaming was sent a download code for Shift DX on the
Nintendo 3DS. This hand held video game contains one hundred levels and
a level editor. The goal of Shift DX is to get to the door. In each of
the levels in this downloadable only hand held video game. I did some
research and there are other versions of Shift on other platforms like
free websites.
There are a couple of things family members can do in Shift DX. They can
run their Game & Watch looking character. They can jump their Game &
Watch looking character. They can shift through the floor changing the
level. As family members beat rooms new things are added that rotate the
rooms, keys that unlock doors, and more. Shift DX will make you think.
I do have one major quibble with Shift DX. I got stuck on some levels. I
was not given any solution, or way to skip that level. I had to let
others try and solve the puzzle for me. If they got stuck, then this
disposable video game will get deleted and forgotten. I wish there had
some been some way to build up level skips and then use them when I was
really confounded.
Shift DX is a small download. It only used up just over three hundred
blocks. I think it is really cool that Shift DX comes with a level
editor. That way gamers can make their own levels and share them. I am
sorry that you will not get paid for the work you do in creating levels.
The video game industry has not progressed to that point as of yet. Once
it does Family Friendly Gaming will report on it.
I like the music in Shift DX. It lightened my mood when I was stuck in
levels. I loved solving levels in Shift DX. Sometimes I had to play
around. Other times I used certain objects in the level. Other times I
plotted and plan my path. Whatever method you decide to use keep one
thing in mind - be ready to change how you think to beat levels in Shift
DX on the Nintendo 3DS.
