Spintires MudRunner
SCORE: 66
I am thankful Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital download
code for Spintires MudRunner on the Playstation 4. This vehicle delivery
video game can be found in the physical copy format, and on the PC, and
Xbox One. As of right now Spintires MudRunner is selling for $39.99. In
my opinion Spintires MudRunner should cost no more than twenty dollars
brand new.
The modes in Spintires MudRunner are Single Player, Challenges,
Tutorial, Multiplayer, Controls, and Settings. Families will need to pay
for a Playstation Plus membership to play Spintires MudRunner online. If
you do not pay for one you can get two days free. After that the online
options are gone. There is no local multiplayer option in Spintires
MudRunner whatsoever.
On its face Spintires MudRunner is very family friendly. We drive these
big trucks around in muddy regions to make deliveries. We deliver things
like logs and parts to remote areas. I liked delivering to lumber mills
personally. The rockish music in Spintires MudRunner should keep most
gamers awake. Why do I say awake? I will explain that in the very next
paragraph.
Here I go. Spintires MudRunner is boring. It is dull. It is slow.
Slogging through the mud is such a pain in Spintires MudRunner. It takes
forever to get anywhere. I also found there is not always an arrow to
point where to go. Yes you can go the wrong way with no easy way to turn
around. I also got stuck in the trees trying to turn around. Even the
winch could not help me get out.
The controls in Spintires MudRunner are so confusing. I fought my way
through the tutorial. I then battled my way through deliveries. The
camera be moved all around. I found at times I could not see in front of
the vehicle. Going into first person driver mode was even worse in terms
of the camera. I am confused as to why the areas in Spintires MudRunner
are so sparse. Where are all the other trucks driving around?
I wanted to like Spintires MudRunner so much. It looks like a real
family friendly title on paper. In real life it is such a struggle to
play this game. I almost fell asleep playing Spintires MudRunner
multiple times. The music was not always obnoxious enough to keep my
sludging through the mud. Spintires MudRunner clocks in at just under
one gig in terms of file size.
