Stars in Shadow

I am thankful Family Friendly Gaming was provided a digital downloadable code for Stars in Shadow on Steam. This Personal Computer (PC) space strategy game is going to please fanboys of the genre. The slow start up of Stars in Shadow let me know I was in for a slow and methodical game. One where moves would need to be planned. Part of the slowness to Stars in Shadow is learning how it controls.

The controls in Stars in Shadow confused me from start to near finish. I wanted to do certain things but could not. Why not? I was never really sure why. Maybe a new ship needed to be built or colonist needed to be ready to leave one place for another. I had to learn by trial and error with Stars in Shadow. This downloadable only PC game does not give many hints. When it does I could not implement them. Like when I could colonize and put a native population in slavery. I needed a colony there first.

There are seven different species to play in Stars in Shadow. Only advanced players should try the humans. Why? They do not have a home planet of their own. It is really lame that Stars in Shadow is so mean and hateful to us humans. Stars in Shadow preaches the message that aliens are better than us. Well I am offended. Nothing like insulting the player.

The music is fantastic in Stars in Shadow. There is violence as we can get into space battles with other species. The visual glitches were a bit of a problem in Stars in Shadow. I loved researching new technologies in Stars in Shadow. The goal in Stars in Shadow is to expand your empire, and conquer. This can be done with trade, battle, and other means. Battle being the easiest of course.

I like the strategy elements in Stars in Shadow. I wish Stars in Shadow had told me to build farms on new colonies or the creatures would starve to death. I had to deal with uprisings over things like that. I was unable to find a physical copy of Stars in Shadow. The game's size is massive so make sure you have enough memory available to download and play Stars in Shadow.
