The Escapists 2

The Escapists 2 is a 6GB game about breaking out of prison. When I heard that The Escapists 2 had been announced I eagerly awaited the day it would come out, and Team 17 was happy to give us a digital download of The Escapists 2. I have found that The Escapists 2 is a challenging game and requires both time and planing. An example would be that majority of the time that I have played has been digging or crafting, and I am still not out of the first real prison.

The Escapists 2 is however more user friendly than The Escapists 1 is. I found crafting items to be so much easier in The Escapists 2. The music in The Escapists 2 is nice and peaceful, until you miss roll call or knock out a guard. Not only do sirens start blaring but they send in the dogs... those dogs are an unstoppable force of nature, I didn't find a single way to kill or even delay those dogs (even with max fitness there is no escape once dogs are called in). The graphics in The Escapists 2 are also a step up from The Escapists 1, I found it to be a surprise. Some of the problems that families should be aware of is violence and attacks against traditional marriage.

In The Escapists 2 the guards are quite strong and require a good weapon, strength, and blocking. In The Escapists 2 when you knock someone out 2 you don't have long to loot them before medics come and get them to bring them to the infirmary. from what I could tell if you manage to take a guard down you can't take their weapon or uniform. You don't have much stamina in The Escapists 2 so you can't do lots at a time without breaks. Gone are the days that you had to train for health, in The Escapists 2 you start with 100 health.

In The Escapists 2 you have many means that you can escape by. In The Escapists 1 I would always do a prison takeover, however The Escapists 2 is different. I have not yet been able to take out enough guards in The Escapists 2 to get a takeover, and may never. The Escapists 2 is meant to be played strategically and not by brute force which is why I am the one playing this game. Durability is horrible in The Escapists 2 considering how much some things cost to make, such as the pick-axe and shovel type tools.

The Escapists 2 is a game that I would say is more for the hardcore gamers looking for a challenge, but not for casual players who want easy fun. The Escapists 2 is also for the older members of the family as it is rated "T"( Thirteen or Older). The Escapists 2 does allow you to save often which is good in a game as time consuming as The Escapists 2. The Escapists 2 is hard but fun, unlike other hard games this one doesn't make you angry as you fail time and time again. The Escapists 2 could have been better if it provided a more casual mode for the casual players.
