Typoman Revised
SCORE: 59
My heart is grateful Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital
download code for Typoman Revised on the Xbox One. This digital
downloadable only video game is a 1.17 gig download. Hopefully your
families Internet plan can handle that much data. We spell words in
Typoman Revised that change the environment. Note you will need to find
the right key word to progress.
My biggest issue with Typoman Revised is the word scrambler. If you can
not figure out what word to spell then you are stuck. I found myself
stuck very often in Typoman Revised. Thankfully others came by and
offered suggestions in this game with a vague storyline. How did I learn
about the story of Typoman Revised? I read it by finding the "
characters.
The main character in Typoman Revised is made out of letters. He starts
as an 'O', and then eventually spells HERO. There are a variety of
monsters that come after your character in Typoman Revised. You can also
fall to your death in Typoman Revised. Your character makes a disturbing
splat and explodes when he makes contact. The same will happen if a
monster hits you.
There is content in Typoman Revised that could be controversial to some
families. I noticed when I grew my hero with more letters the highly
divisive and controversial word evolve was there. I also noticed one of
the enemies came from the word hate. Might be an attack on certain
groups. I am not certain. I also read part of the storyline talking
about false beliefs. Is this an attack on Christians? Jews? Muslims?
some other group?
The graphics in Typoman Revised are on the dark side. Not as bad as that
horrible Limbo video game. Typoman Revised contains more gray than
black. There are still dark elements in Typoman Revised. Like when the
monster ripped off my characters head. A bit of gore there. The music in
Typoman Revised is moody. It did not uplift me in any way. Some of the
early comments in Typoman Revised were depressing.
I love the idea of using words to change the environment. I hated having
to find the right word to open a gate, or add a 'P' to GAS to get some
air. The gas never hurt me before that point. There are some annoying
puzzles in Typoman Revised. There are also some tricky puzzles. I figure
the difficulty increased drastically based on how short this
downloadable game is.
