Vixen The Movie
SCORE: 56
We purchased a copy of Vixen The Movie on Blu-ray for a guys movie
night when it went on sale for $9.99 at a local retailer. I was
concerned about Vixen The Movie since it is only seventy-five minutes
long, and it is not rated. Also Vixen The Movie came out very recently,
and has dropped in price by half. Normally when movies drop in price
that quickly they are pretty lame.
Vixen The Movie tells the story of Mari McCabe. She was an orphan with a
necklace. This necklace has a totem on it, and is magical. It is strange
that such a low grade/ lesser known character gets her own movie. I can
think of plenty of other characters that should get movies first.
Booster Gold comes to mind. Are you listening DC Comics? Where is the
Booster Gold movie?
The issues families will have with Vixen The Movie are lack of attire,
enticement to lust, sexual innuendo, bad language, violence, blood,
false gods, ghosts, spirits, teachings of evolution, and more. The
storyline in Vixen The Movie is very disconnected too. It felt like
multiple episodes that were spliced together. I also question why this
movie was done in the animated form instead of live action.
The voice actors in Vixen The Movie will be very familiar to you if you
watch the Arrow and Flash television shows. They are the same people.
This could have been a two part mini series with the live action actors
instead of an animated film. Black Canary, The Atom, and more make their
appearances in Vixen The Movie. Oliver is certainly way out of his depth
in a lot of Vixen The Movie. But then he is a third tier character
himself. Which makes Vixen a fourth of fifth tiered character. The Flash
is made to look very weak and slow in this movie.
Vixen The Movie ties into the live action shows (Arrow, The Flash) in
multiple places and multiple ways. I saw the most recent season of both
of them, and denoted references to episodes in them. I am stuck on this
should have been done in live action instead of animation. Vixen The
Movie is a generally forgettable movie that will be in the bargain bins
very soon. If you like super hero women then you might want to spend
five dollars on Vixen The Movie brand new. It will get to that price
soon.
