Wonder Boy The Dragon's Trap
SCORE: 75
My appreciation goes out to DotEmu for sending Family Friendly Gaming
a digital download code for Wonder Boy The Dragon's Trap on the Xbox
One. This 2D side scrolling action adventure video game is a modern
version of a retro classic. Wonder Boy The Dragon's Trap clocks in just
over one gig in terms of size. This game can be seen in the retro
graphics or modern day graphics. I can tell you that the retro graphics
look horrible.
There is some mild violence in Wonder Boy The Dragon's Trap. The main
character learns that defeating a dragon will curse them. I got turned
into a variety of different creatures thanks to the boss characters in
Wonder Boy The Dragon's Trap. The good part is these changes granted me
new skills. Like being able to walk on walls and ceilings as the mouse
knight.
If you get stuck in Wonder Boy The Dragon's Trap then you can go to
church and talk to a pig character. The comments from this character are
not exactly very helpful. I learned to look around and find stuff. I
also learned it is very important to collect coins in Wonder Boy The
Dragon's Trap. What do coins get you? They are used to buy better
weapons and armor. This is extremely useful in Wonder Boy The Dragon's
Trap. Especially raising your defense.
The jumping can be a bit tricky in Wonder Boy The Dragon's Trap. I had
all kinds of problems with the jumping. Sometimes it worked perfectly,
and other times I thought it was good and I missed a jump. I was not
always sure why this happened. I learned that if I was really far from
town I could die, or go back to the main title screen. I would respawn
in the town and keep all of my gold and items.
Wonder Boy The Dragon's Trap comes in three difficulties. I stuck with
the easy because Wonder Boy The Dragon's Trap was hard enough for me
without making it even more difficult. There can be some replay there if
you want a real challenge. I enjoyed playing Wonder Boy The Dragon's
Trap. It took a few tries to figure out where to go in this downloadable
only video game. Once I got the flow Wonder Boy The Dragon's Trap made a
lot of sense. The boss fights are a bit simplistic though.
