8-Bit Armies

I heard about 8-Bit Armies and thought this was a video game I would immediately despise. After playing 8-Bit Armies I realized I did not immediately despise it. 8-Bit Armies is interesting in a couple of ways. I will try to express myself on those later on this review. Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital download code for 8-Bit Armies on the Xbox One. There is a physical copy version of 8-Bit Armies also available. If we receive one we will do an Unboxing video for you guys.

The options available in 8-Bit Armies are Game Manual, Campaign, Co-op Campaign, Skirmish, Multiplayer, Options, and Language. When we play the twenty-five levels of Campaign mode we can play as the Renegades or Guardians. There are twelve multiplayer modes that allow for up to eight people to play with one another online. When you win you get this message - "Victory A Winner Is You."

8-Bit Armies is an RTS video game. Not familiar with that three letter acronym(TLA)? 8-Bit Armies is a real time strategy video game. We collect resources and build things. What kinds of things. Barracks are a great example. Then we can move our troops around. 8-Bit Armies has a great control scheme that was easy to pick up and use. The goal is to destroy the base of the computer or other player(s).

The graphics are small and blocky in 8-Bit Armies. It fits the whole 8-Bit theme of this violent video game. We are at war in 8-Bit Armies. So expect to see violence, and blood. There are plenty of explosions in 8-Bit Armies as well. The music is fantastic. We are forced to play the tutorial. I could have figured these things out by myself eventually. There are some nice tips in that tutorial though.

I loved being able to tell the Barracks in 8-Bit Armies to produce multiple of a certain troop and then multiple of another kind of troop. This allowed me to go explore the map while the base was resupplying the troops I needed to replenish. It was also pretty cool to find tanks in 8-Bit Armies. I did not realize at first they were on my side. RTS gamers can have fun with 8-Bit Armies.
