Batman Gotham By Gaslight

It is rare that we will touch anything
rated 'R' for Restricted. I was curious about this concept. It is in
essence Batman versus Jack The Ripper. Who they find to be Jack The
Ripper was a bit of a shock. I thought they would have the real Jack The
Ripper. SPOILER ALERT! It was pretty messed up that they made
Commissioner Gordan Jack The Ripper. Who does that?
The issues families will have with Batman Gotham By Gaslight are blood,
violence, lack of attire, enticement to lust, sex outside of marriage,
and more. Batman Gotham By Gaslight feels like a direct attack on
Christian morals, ethics, and beliefs. There are some references to God
in Batman Gotham By Gaslight, however they feel more mocking than
supportive. Batman Gotham By Gaslight is part of the war on Christians.
It takes seventy-eight minutes to watch Batman Gotham By Gaslight from
start to finish. The bonus content is Caped Fear The First Elseworld,
Audio Commentary, A Sneak Peak at Suicide Squad Hell to Pay, and two
bonus cartoons. The DC Comics movies continue to go down a dark path and
become more macabre and morbid. I miss the safer DC movies that allowed
for more viewer imagination.
Batman (in that era) trying to catch Jack the Ripper is interesting.
There are some interesting fight scenes. I loved the one in and on the
blimp. There were also rooftops involved in that battle. Batman Gotham
By Gaslight does leave open some questions. SPOILER ALERT! Bruce Wayne
was arrested for murder, and escaped prison. That thread was left open.
Jack the Ripper dies so there will be no more murders. Would the court
believe Selena Kyle since she was seen romantically involved with Bruce
Wayne?
I truly believe Batman Gotham By Gaslight could have been a PG-13 movie
if certain elements were left out. Did we need that scene with Ivy
stripping? Did we need that much blood and gore? In my opinion Batman
Gotham By Gaslight is a rental for those that are curious about how
Batman would fare against Jack The Ripper. In a lot of ways the story in
this movie was a let down.
