Crashlands

I was minding my own business trying not to get sucked into the vortex of anyone else's problems when I was asked if I wanted to play Crashlands on the Nintendo Switch. This downloadable only video game was provided to Family Friendly Gaming. The story starts out in space with some creature and his robot helper. This giant floating head attacks the ship and crashes it.

Yes I know getting crashed on a planet is pretty cliched in entertainment. I am sure you can think of plenty of games, TV shows, and movies that have had that premise. What do the two characters do? They make attempts at humor. Some of it may offend you. There is some language that some of our readers may be bothered by. Crashlands is rated thirteen and older only.

When we get on the planet we start to collect resources, and craft things. Then we get recipes to build bigger and better things. These allow us the ability to protect our base, fight monsters, tame monsters, and more. Crashlands has a very good tutorial that explains how to do things. I was able to follow along like a karaoke song. There were a few points of confusion here and there.

A second family member can play the robot helper Juicebox if you so desire. Crashlands is also an app on iOS and Android. The port of Crashlands over to the Nintendo Switch is a good one. My main problem with Crashlands is I have done many of these things before in plenty of other games. The indie graphics looks decent. The music is pretty cool in Crashlands.

The violence and blood in Crashlands is pretty tame compared to plenty of other thirteen and older video games. It is present as well as the previously mentioned content. Crashlands is a 118 meg download. So you will not need to clear a lot of space to purchase and download Crashlands. I hope this indie game gets the physical copy treatment at some point in the future. There we go - making all these companies more money with our ideas and they will never fairly compensate us for it.
