Inksplosion

I appreciate Ratalaika Games sending Family Friendly Gaming digital download codes for Inksplosion on the PS4, PS Vita, and Nintendo Switch. We only used the Nintendo Switch version of Inksplosion. This is like the old Atari 2600 video game Combat. Inksplosion has way more color though. In fact we are launching paint while we are violently shooting the other vehicles.

Why is the ESRB even there anymore? Inksplosion is yet another one of their failures. This is in a long line of the failures from the ESRB. Inksplosion is a game where we shoot other vehicles and blow them up. The game page talks about war. With all of this documented and easy to find the ESRB found no words to describe the violent content found within Inksplosion. What good is the ESRB to families anymore?

The selectable options in Inksplosion are Classic Mode, Arena Mode, Hard Mode, Game Stats, and Achievements. If you want to play Arena Mode you need to score on million points in Classic Mode. Then if you want to play Hard Mode you must first score one million points in Arena Mode. Inksplosion is an extremely hard video game. I had trouble getting much of anywhere in Classic Mode.

I heard: "GAME OVER," many times while playing Inksplosion. In fact sometimes I got that sound very quickly back to back. Why? When we start each level there is a random weapon given to us. Sometimes it worked great and sometimes it was useless. We can only take two hits, and are grossly outnumbered. Then there are the controls which are spotty at best.

Inksplosion levels get colorful really quick. It can be hard to see what is an attack coming at you and what is not. The random generation of the enemies does not help. Plus all of the enemies always came after me. Lucky me huh!?! Inksplosion could have been better if we could have selected weapons, selected type of level, and had everything accessible from the start.
