Logan
SCORE: 20
If you watched the FFG Haul video for Black Friday 2017, then you
know Logan was shown. If not click
here to see it and other FFG Haul videos. I was not sure if I would
review Logan or not. After watching it, I knew I had to sound off on
this movie. Why? There was such wasted potential. There was so much
needless garbage in Logan.
The issues families will have with Logan is blood, gore, violence, bad
language, nudity, pro suicide, and more. The language is absolutely
horrible in Logan. It was not needed, and really distracts from what
could have been an interesting movie with some interesting concepts. The
blood and gore is also way over the top in Logan. Things like nudity
felt thrown in. I am surprised Logan did not earn the NC-17 rating from
the MPAA.
The year is 2029 and most of the mutants are gone. It is referenced in
Logan but not exactly explained. The Reavers (part human, part robot)
are hunting down children who escaped from a laboratory. These children
are laboratory grown mutants. There have not been mutants born in some
time. X-23 is Logans biological daughter since they had some of
Wolverines DNA.
Logan is dying in this movie. His healing factor is finally diminishing
and the adamantium is poisoning him. Or so he thinks. Again certain plot
points of Logan are not completely revealed. A character thinks
something but does not get it checked out for certain. Professor X is
old, going senile and having seizures. When he has a seizure everyone
with a block or so is completely frozen.
There are references to God in Logan. Too many characters in Logan die
needlessly. SPOILER ALERT! Logan and Professor X both die in Logan. As
far as we know the only mutants left at the end of Logan are the kids
who were grown in a lab. In a way Logan deals with end of the life,
growing old, getting dependent on drugs, and passing things on to the
next generation.
The bonus content on Logan is Deleted Scenes with Optional Audio
Commentary, and Audio Commentary. Both of the audio commentaries are
with the director James Mangold. I value Logan at one penny. Too much
needless bad language, too much blood, gore, and violence, and other
things thrown in there for no intelligent reason. Logan is a let down in
so many ways. Logan is weak, pathetic, and his daughter is shown as way
more powerful.
