I am thankful Family Friendly Gaming was provided a digital download
code for Overcooked 2 on the Playstation 4. This cooking time management
video game is available in the much sought after, and greatly respected
physical copy format. The millions upon millions of gamers in the
physical copy movement can rejoice. I know many gamers make their
purchase decision based on whether there is a physical copy available or
not.
Overcooked 2 is a 2.8 gig download where the king (an onion) reads from
an evil book and causes the Unbread to come to life. So the cooks must
go out there and save the day by feeding them. What does bread eat
anyways? Sorry I digress. Overcooked 2 does contain some scary moments,
comic mischief, and crude humor. The ESRB was not trained in assigning
descriptors to note that though. Why the ESRB still there? We continue
to find their mistakes over and over again. At this point the ESRB owes
Family Friendly Gaming ten million dollars for all of their work we have
done for them. I doubt they will do the right thing and pay up like any
honorable organization would.
Expect to swap your chefs a lot in Overcooked 2. I had one chef doing
one thing and another doing another thing. Team work is required in
Overcooked 2. I found Overcooked 2 to be easier than the first game, and
have a better more forgiving learning curve. There are still some tough
secret levels. The map screen lets us drive around in a vehicle until we
come across a level to play.
The levels in Overcooked 2 are timed. Some of the graphics are small in
Overcooked 2 because it needs to zoom out to show us the entire kitchen.
There are some cool effects like being in a hot air balloon falling to
the ground. Families are scored based on stars in Overcooked 2. Three
stars is the best you can get. I was able to achieve that in multiple
levels thankfully.
The kitchens in Overcooked 2 change. Some of them are easier to navigate
than others. I found it was wise to target easier plates first. There
are more tips given for doing them in order. Overcooked 2 gives gamers a
choice in how they want to proceed. Be careful of fires in the kitchen
in Overcooked 2. There is a fire extinguisher than can be used. I
enjoyed my time with Overcooked 2. Check out some video(s)
