Pirate Pop Plus
SCORE: 75
Family Friendly Gaming has written and spoke about the need for new
retro video games. That is exactly what Pirate Pop Plus on the Nintendo
Switch is. By the way you can find Pirate Pop Plus on other systems.
Pirate Pop Plus looks like a Gameboy video game. There are even console
like buttons on the screen. Pirate Pop Plus is still fun and shows that
this would be a great game on a Gameboy cartridge.
What do we do in Pirate Pop Plus? We pop bubbles. This pirate send
bubbles our way and we pop them. The bubbles start really large and then
get popped into multiple smaller bubbles. Pirate Pop Plus starts out
making one big one into two small ones. Later that one big one will
split into three, and so on. We send an anchor up into the air. That
means if the bubble hits the anchor of the chain attached to it then the
bubble pops.
Each bubble in Pirate Pop Plus drops something. Sometimes it is an item
that give us points. High score is how players are ranked in Pirate Pop
Plus. There are also power ups, hearts and shields. Players start each
game with three hearts. Pirate Pop Plus can be played in normal or hyper
mode. The music in Pirate Pop Plus is fun to listen to while playing
this retro looking game.
Pirate Pop Plus does something very cool. The gravity will change. Maybe
we are on the ceiling, or the right wall, or the left wall. The pirate
in Pirate Pop Plus can change the gravity on us. This changes how the
bubbles bounce as well. They may have to fall farther and that will
change their trajectory. Some of the power ups like the double gun are a
lot of fun in Pirate Pop Plus.
I enjoyed my times with Pirate Pop Plus on the Nintendo Switch. We plan
on doing a video of this game at some point in time. The more I played
Pirate Pop Plus the better I got. I also had more fun the longer I
played Pirate Pop Plus. Please be aware there is an addictive nature to
playing Pirate Pop Plus. I kept wanting to do better each and every
time.
