Sonic Forces

Sega’s PR and Marketing people shot themselves in the foot by failing Family Friendly Gaming. Sonic Forces is a game that would have made our Christmas Buying Guide this year. Because of their failure it might have an opportunity to appear in the Christmas Buying Guide in 2018. They only have themselves to blame though.

I really got into Sonic Forces. I was concerned about this game too. Would it be ultra war zone violent? Sonic Forces is not. In fact it reminds me of Sonic Colors. There are 2D portions and sort of 3D. You know that 3D where we are running really fast and can move to the left or right a bit on the path? That is what happens in Sonic Forces. We fight bosses mainly in 3D areas.

Sonic Forces looks good, and it sounds great. Kudos to Sega for getting the right voice actors for Sonic Forces. There is some cartoon violence as we free animals from their robotic enslavement. The story telling in Sonic Forces is stellar. This felt like watching the Sonic X animated show. We also get to see retro Sonic from Sonic Generations, and we can have our very own avatar in Sonic Forces.

After we beat levels we unlock new gear. This gear can be worn on our very own Sonic Forces avatar character. This is pretty neat and encouraged me to keep playing this home console video game. Infinite is an interesting character in Sonic Forces. He creates virtual reality versions of enemies Sonic has defeated in previous games. This is a great way to bring back a variety of characters.

The songs in Sonic Forces caught my ear as I went through levels. I also like how Sonic was captured early on in the game. Eggman conquers almost the entire world, and the resistance must slowly take the world back area by area. We hop around to different levels a lot in Sonic Forces. In my opinion Sonic Forces is worth thirty dollars.
