We have a separate review of the Nintendo Switch version of this game. Family Friendly Gaming was given a reviewable copy of Super Bomberman R Shiny Edition. We are extremely thankful for that.

Not only did I play Super Bomberman R Shiny Edition, I also video recorded my gameplay. This is my second time playing this game. The first time was on the Nintendo Switch. I was better at this game the second time around. I still ran into some of the same challenges as before. Super Bomberman R Shiny Edition has a lot to do in it, and there are some cool characters we can be.

What kind of characters you might be asking? Super Bomberman R Shiny Edition lets us be Ratchet & Clank Bomber (PlayStation 4), Master Chief Bomber (Xbox One), and P-body Bomber (Steam). There is also Golden Vic Viper, Xavier Woods (from the New Day - don't you dare be sour), eight shiny Bombermen, and more. I showcased many of them in my video series. So be sure to check it out once it is online.

Super Bomberman R Shiny Edition has regular offline gameplay, and there is online game play. If that were not enough families can also bomb one another in a local multiplayer mode. Super Bomberman R Shiny Edition is all about clearing the mazes based on the criteria of that map. We escort characters to a safe zone, find keys, bomb all of the enemies, and more. I hated having to stay alive for a certain amount of time.

The issue families can have with Super Bomberman R Shiny Edition is the violence. We put down bombs that blow things up and destroy a variety of creatures. We can also launch our own characters off the screen if we are hit by a bomb blast. Yes we can hit ourselves with our own bombs. I did that a great many times. I know it is possible. I love the storyline and characters in Super Bomberman R Shiny Edition. This is a solid Bomberman title that has been improved from the original first release of Super Bomberman R.

I feel the controls on the Playstation 4 are better than the Nintendo Switch. This might be a personal preference thing. I just like the controls on the PS4 better. I am sure I would like the Xbox One controls over the Switch controls as well. The PS4 and Xbox One controls feel more solid to me than the Switch controls. I had a lot of fun playing Super Bomberman R Shiny Edition from start to finish.
