TerraTech

There are a lot of different ideas coming to the video game industry over recent years. TerraTech is one such example. This downloadable only video game lets us build a vehicle out of modules. Think of small blocks. There are a variety of important things to learn about TerraTech. Make sure you play the tutorial in TerraTech. I think if you go into Single Player mode you might have to play the tutorial first. It is important.

There is multiplayer in TerraTech if you are into doing that. The single player modes are Campaign, Creative Mode, and Gauntlet. Make sure you protect your cab at all costs. If you die then you can come back with your last vehicle. There is a catch of course. You will lose half of your money. Which is a real bummer. Why would you die in TerraTech? More to come on that in the next paragraph.

Vehicles in TerraTech have weapons. You get experience for blowing apart other vehicles. You also get to collect the left over blocks to use on your vehicle. This can be helpful in making your vehicle larger and more powerful. You must know what you are doing though. I found ways to make my vehicle unmovable based on where I put things like wheels. It has to make sense.

The music in TerraTech has a Wild West feel to it for me. Which seemed odd because TerraTech feels more science fiction than Old West to me. The controls can feel a bit wonky at times in TerraTech. Other times they worked marvelously well. It can depend on your engineering skills if you know what I mean. We are encouraged to destroy other vehicles.

TerraTech does contain violence. It does not feel that bad to me since we are shooting pea shooters at them. At least early on. If you can build a flying vehicle you may have better weapons.I died early and often in TerraTech. I am obviously not skilled enough to progress in a game like this one. TerraTech may not be the best game for casual gamers. If you have good blocky designs then you might thrive in TerraTech.
