The Golf Club 2
SCORE: 78
I appreciate Family Friendly Gaming
purchasing the Day One Edition of The Golf Club 2 on the Xbox One. This
golf franchise has improved a little bit. It still has some work to do
in terms of the controls. The PR and Marketing for this company failed
us. Probably holding a grudge from the first time we reviewed this game
on the PC.
The Golf Club 2 has some long loading times. We can control The Golf
Club 2 with the right or left joysticks. There is still no guide to show
us where the ball will go. Even Mario Golf has one of those. Some of the
menu options are cut off on the screen and can not be seen. Hitting the
ball and putting are all based on feel. I can usually guess right about
ten percent of the time. The other ninety percent is missing. I also
noticed the swing did not always match my motion. Others watched the
controller and verified this glitch in The Golf Club 2.
The Golf Club 2 looks nice and sounds nice. The same announcer voice is
used from the first game. He is generally nicer in the comments when we
miss. He tries to be more encouraging in The Golf Club 2. I like that,
and I have warmed up to him. I could gauge if something was going in the
rough better than him though. He says he is only human.
The modes in The Golf Club 2 are Resumable, TGC Official, Suggested,
Hot, All Courses, Handicap Rated, My Courses, My Favorites, My Played,
Friends Courses, Active Courses, Friend Played. The things we can do in
The Golf Club 2 are Play, Training, Career (confusing menu selections),
Online Societies, Course Designer, amd Change Profile. Multiple courses
must be played to earn your handicap. There are plenty of courses, and
items for your golfer. We can make our own courses too.
