The Shadow
SCORE: 63
Every so often I am interested in some
campy movie. Maybe I want to share it with our children. Maybe I want to
see how it will review on the Family Friendly Gaming review scale. Maybe
I am curious to see how time has been to it. Whatever the case I knew
The Shadow on DVD would be something. It was definitely something else.
We learn the origins of this hero from what I think is the 1930s.
The issues families can have with The Shadow are violence, blood, lack
of attire, enticement to lust, magic, bad language, alcohol, a demonic
knife and more. The Shadow uses his mind to control others. So does his
enemy the descendant of Genghis Khan. They are fighting over an atomic
bomb that is going to go off in New York city. The Shadow does have a
theme of redemption and community.
Alec Baldwin does a good job in The Shadow. He plays the character very
believably. I guess that was before he lost his mind and went on a
crusade attacking Christians and conservatives. The lesson there is too
much time in Holly Weird will warp your mind. I love hearing about
people who left Hollywood to get settled back into reality. Maybe that
should be a requirement to work in that profession. Might help us find
new interesting talents.
The Shadow teaches us to fight evil. The Shadow also teaches us to use
our minds. There are some fascinating and cool scenes in The Shadow. I
love the water one in that round building. The Shadow really needed to
rely less on his invisibility and more on other talents. I do not
understand how someone could hypnotize the entire city. What about
people who do not live there and come in for a visit? Wouldn't they see
the building?
There are some funny moments in this movie that takes one hour and forty
eight minutes to watch. The plot in The Shadow is completely and totally
predictable. I love the police commissioner in The Shadow. I remember
him from other funny movies. He plays pretty stiff in The Shadow. The
characters in The Shadow are definitely way over the top. There are
little depth to most of them.
