WAKU WAKU SWEETS

Earlier this year I reviewed WAKU WAKU SWEETS on the Nintendo 3DS. Now I am reviewing it on the Nintendo Switch. Sonic Powered Co sent Family Friendly Gaming a digital download code for WAKU WAKU SWEETS on the Nintendo Switch just like they did for the Nintendo 3DS. This is a downloadable only cooking game. At least it is downloadable only in the US.

WAKU WAKU SWEETS is a 2.2 gig download. Which is pretty big in my opinion. I feel when any game gets over one gig in size it should be released in the physical copy format since there are many families who have limited download size on their plans. Asking struggling families to pay more to do digital downloads is not a viable solution in my opinion. Plus there are many families who only buy physical copy games and companies will miss out on their sales.

The Nintendo Switch version of WAKU WAKU SWEETS may look a bit better on a larger screen. Ultimately this is the same game on the Nintendo 3DS. Which brings up a very interesting topic. WAKU WAKU SWEETS is selling for $12.49 on the Nintendo 3DS as I write this review, and WAKU WAKU SWEETS is selling for $39.99 on the Nintendo Switch. That is quite the price hike. If you played WAKU WAKU SWEETS on the 3DS would you want to pay that much more to play it on the Switch?

We have a fairy that is there to grant our wish in WAKU WAKU SWEETS. The problem is this fairy has no magic because people are not happy enough. How do we make them happy? We make deserts for them. We take recipes and follow along to make the deserts. What is our wish? To make the best deserts and make people happy. As we get good at the game we make the wish come true ourselves. Why is the fairy there then?

WAKU WAKU SWEETS is more than just a cooking game. We get to know different characters, and we can change our outfits. There are multiple different control schemes allowed with WAKU WAKU SWEETS. Using the Joycons in our hands is the best way. The easiest way is to leave the controllers on the system (in hand held mode), or with the controller.

Girls can get into WAKU WAKU SWEETS way more than boys. Which is cool because we women appreciate video game companies that provide games for us. I wish more video game companies thought of publishing games for the female side of the family. I enjoyed my time with WAKU WAKU SWEETS on the Nintendo Switch. I hope to see more games like WAKU WAKU SWEETS in the future.
