Yoku's Island Express

Team17 sent Family Friendly Gaming a digital download code for Yoku's Island Express before the game officially launched to the public. This is an interesting adventure video game based on pinball mechanics. We are an ant that pushes around a ball. He is actually the new postmaster for an island. This ant attaches to the ball as pinball flippers can launch it to new locations.

Yoku's Island Express looks really nice. Yoku's Island Express sounds really cool too. There have not been many games like Yoku's Island Express in the video game industry. I can not remember a pinball based adventure in some years. It is really neat to play a game like Yoku's Island Express. There are physical copies of Yoku's Island Express available to the millions upon millions of physical copy gamers.

The issues families may have with Yoku's Island Express is the violence, blood, false gods, and off color humor. We spend most of our time helping others. There are things like slugs that help us get past certain areas. If you mess up then the slugs will explode and send your character (with his ball) flying in the opposite direction. I had such trouble with that sucking up the slugs mechanic.

We collect fruit in Yoku's Island Express. This fruit is used to unlock bumpers. These will allow us to access locations we could not previously get to. They are crucial in certain portions of Yoku's Island Express. There is a light hearted nature to Yoku's Island Express. The map is in fog mode until you actually visit that area. There are telescopes to see what is coming up in certain areas.

Yoku's Island Express is a 1.3 gig download so we are recommending families check out the physical copy version. I hope to see sequels to this game in the future. Yoku's Island Express blends pinball with an adventure quite nicely. I did have sections that really frustrated me. Yoku's Island Express does have some challenging spots. Bear that in mind. I did not find a setting for an easier difficulty when I was stuck. Other times I had to do a certain action to get through.
