8-Bit Hordes
SCORE: 65
One I thought we had already reviewed it. Why did I have this
thought? 8-Bit Hordes is in essence the same game as 8-Bit Armies with
one major difference. What is that major difference? The major
difference is 8-Bit Hordes has a fantasy theme to it. The graphics are
similar, the menu screens are similar, and the music is similar.
The modes in 8-Bit Hordes are exactly the same. The modes are Game
Manual, Campaign, Co-op Campaign, Skirmish, Multiplayer, Options, and
Language. We play as either Deathsworn or Lightbringers in 8-Bit Hordes.
There are twenty-four normal (offline) missions in 8-Bit Hordes, and
there are twelve online ones. Those that play multiplayer can fight
against other 8-Bit Hordes players or 8-Bit Armies players.
The tutorial must be played in 8-Bit Hordes. I did not mind learning how
to play this game since what it showed me is rather essential to
surviving. Each unit needs food so having farms is very important in
8-Bit Hordes. We can upgrade things like buildings in 8-Bit Hordes. The
text is still small in this franchise. Most people playing 8-Bit Hordes
had to get closer to the television than other console video games.
8-Bit Hordes contains violent content since we fight off the opposing
army with our troops. Expect to find mythical creatures in 8-Bit Hordes
as well. I really like the Wyverns personally. They gave me great air
support and visibility into what was right around the corner. The main
concept in this real time strategy (RTS) video game can be found in
8-Bit Hordes. Build up resources with mine carts, purchase barracks,
build farms, and then create troops. From there overwhelm your enemy
with numbers.
RTS gamers into retro graphics can have fun with 8-Bit Hordes. I noticed
a variety of different fantasy franchises being referenced in 8-Bit
Hordes. I will not spoil it for you though. 8-Bit Hordes is a large
download - over three gigs. I would love to see a physical copy edition
that included 8-Bit Hordes and 8-Bit Armies. That would be a neat little
compilation pack if you know what I mean.
