Batman Hush
SCORE: 49
We changed our march to Christmas movie
nights this year. We are keeping our normal rotation of who makes the
movie choice. The one catch is they must pick something from what I
purchased on Black Friday. Batman Hush is one of those movies. Peter
decided it was the pick he wanted to make. Here I am reviewing this
animated movie. I remembered the comic books that ran with Hush. At
least the beginning of those comic books.
SPOILER ALERT! I thought Hush was Bruce Wayne’s old friend and that he
wanted to replace him. Batman Hush on DVD and Blu-ray has Riddler being
the villain. He had a brain tumor that could not be removed, and went
into a Lazarus Pit. He got smarter and stronger because of it. He was
also healed of course. Batman Hush really is horrible to the Riddler. It
diminishes his character from his previous prominence.
The issues families will have with Batman Hush are violence, blood,
gore, lack of attire, enticement to lust, sex outside of marriage, bad
language, and more. The bad language was way over the top in Batman
Hush. It did not help this eighty-two minute long movie. In fact it
distracted from the psychological and mystery. Batman Hush is one of
those movies that is watched once only.
Batman Hush brings us romance between Batman and Catwoman. SPOILER
ALERT! Bruce Wayne reveals who he is to Selina Kyle. This works well
until the end of the movie. Why do I say that? In the end of Batman Hush
Catwoman realizes she cannot follow Batman’s code. Which seems a bit of
a copout to me personally. I do not think they could have actually saved
Riddler at the end of Batman Hush.
The frosty relationship between Batman and Superman in Batman Hush is
interesting. I love how Hush uses so many other super villains in Batman
Hush. The whole Batman and Catwoman partnership is cool for as long as
it lasted. The Sgt Rock DC Showcase was really odd. The upcoming Wonder
Woman movie looks pretty lame. The rest of the bonus content is pretty
standard for one of these movies.
