Bossgard

Did you catch the collaborative Twitch stream we did of Bossgard with Christ Centered Gamer? If not you need to be following us both to find out when we are streaming and collaborating. You missed a really cool crossover event. You do not want to miss those in the future. Trust me on this. We are constantly looking for ideas and games to bring to your attention.

After Cheryl over at Christ Centered Gamer suggested Bossgard as a collab game to do a stream on, we requested a code from the video game developer. They were kind enough to send us a digital download code for this game. To my knowledge there are no physical copy versions of Bossgard on the Personal Computer (PC). The Steam software is also required to play this game.

Bossgard is a game for up to five players. There is one boss and four vikings. The four vikings are trying to kill the boss, and the one boss is trying to kill the vikings. In my opinion the boss characters are over powered. The computer controlled characters are also generally overpowered. I died in the tutorial no matter which side I took. When I played the boss against human characters I dominated them. When I played the vikings I got schooled.

I noticed something very interesting while playing Bossgard. If a human is a boss, and the vikings are a mixture of human and computer controlled, the computer controlled stay alive the longest. I am personally not big on the control scheme in Bossgard. The issues families will have with Bossgard are violence, promotion of false gods, and more. I felt more aggressive after playing Bossgard.

Bossgard is a 371 megabyte download. There are multiple bosses, and characters can level up by playing. I did have some fun playing Bossgard on the PC. The action gets very chaotic and you can get lost in the mix. I did multiple times. It was still fun to play and collaborate with another channel. I hope the balance gets fixed and there are better control scheme options in the future.
