Candleman

Last year Family Friendly Gaming reviewed Candleman on the Personal Computer (PC), Xbox One and Playstation 4. Candleman has now ported over to the Nintendo Switch. We decided it would be fun to play and review Candleman again. Kid Gamer was not that thrilled with Candleman on those systems. I actually like this game. I will explain my reasoning in this review.

Candleman is dark and it is hard to see. That is the bad news. The good news is we can light our little candle man dude to see what is around us. We only have so much time we can light him though. So doing quick little flashes to see is very important in Candleman. If you leave the light on for too long then you will lose your wax and it is level over.

Candleman gives us multiple continues per area. I learned how to conserve my very limited resources in Candleman. I had to play Candleman differently than most games I have played in my life. Which is cool because I enjoyed learning about conserving. Candleman does require we use the resources from time to time which is a nice lesson as well.

I like the music in Candleman. I loved trying to find all of the candles in a level of Candleman too. If you want to 100% this downloadable only video game then you will need to take your time and explore the levels. Some of the candles are hidden in out of the way places. Candleman slowly gets more difficult as the levels progress. We also interact with interesting, cool and different things.

Puzzles in Candleman start easy and get more difficult as well. I am thankful Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital download code for Candleman on the Nintendo Switch. Candleman is a 1.4 gig download. If your family decided to walk around in the dark then they will need to be sure they have enough open memory on the Nintendo Switch. I enjoyed the level design in Candleman.
