The state of pro wrestling games is so bad
I was extremely excited to play Chiki-Chiki Boxy Pro Wrestling on the
Nintendo Switch. Let me explain that first sentence a bit more.
Chiki-Chiki Boxy Pro Wrestling looks like Minecraft characters. We
wrestle in matches that is more fun in my opinion than the 2K Sports
wrestling video games. I will elaborate on that more in this review.
Chiki-Chiki Boxy Pro Wrestling is a 361 meg downloadable only video game
on the Switch. I found no information on a physical copy version of
Chiki-Chiki Boxy Pro Wrestling in the United States. This is a major
shame because Chiki-Chiki Boxy Pro Wrestling should be at retail. The
skippable tutorial shows the different moves in Chiki-Chiki Boxy Pro
Wrestling. I found it very enlightening.
The modes in Chiki-Chiki Boxy Pro Wrestling are Grand Slam, Multi
Battle, Create, and Training. We have seven tournaments that each
contain four stages in the Grand Slam mode. We unlock characters and
customizable content as we beat the matches in Grand Slam. The money
earned here can be used in the Create section of Chiki-Chiki Boxy Pro
Wrestling on the Nintendo Switch.
We pummel our opponents with punches, kicks, special attacks and more in
Chiki-Chiki Boxy Pro Wrestling. I am shocked the ESRB was not capable of
finding any descriptors for the violent content in Chiki-Chiki Boxy Pro
Wrestling. Ah well the ESRB has been failing families for over a decade
now. We can beat an opponent senseless and take away all of their health
in Chiki-Chiki Boxy Pro Wrestling. When this happens we win. No need to
constantly try to pin.
Be careful of the hazards in certain stages. They will hurt you and take
away any momentum you might have gained. Where you stand near a fallen
opponent will determine what move is used. The head, feet, and side will
each result in a different attack. The same goes for the lock up. Press
different buttons to do different attacks. Chiki-Chiki Boxy Pro
Wrestling starts easy and gets progressively more difficult.
