Dirt 4

I am not into Rally racing. I actually despise most of the Rally racing video games because they are frustrating, annoying, aggravating, overly difficult, and obnoxious. So I cringed a little on the inside when I picked Dirt 4 out of the pile. Guess what? I actually enjoyed playing Dirt 4. There is only one aspect of this racing game I would change.

You can probably figure out what part of Dirt 4 I am not thrilled about if you looked at the scores for this racing video game. That department is the audio. The offensive lyrics were not needed. We can completely turn off the music. It still plays on certain loading screens though. The narrator and the navigator are not my personal favorites. In fact that navigator just annoyed me.

The modes in Dirt 4 are Events (Career, Competitive, Multiplayer, Free Play, Dirt Academy, and Joy Ride), My Team, Vehicles, Mail Box, and Options & Extras. Dirt 4 is very approachable for casual gamers. In fact players pick Gamer or Simulation. We also get to pick the difficulty of Dirt 4. If you like winning then pick the lowest setting. The loading times in Dirt 4 are on the long side. Dirt 4 starts easy and gets progressively more difficult.

I still have problems understanding all of the directions. The nagging woman navigator is not very helpful at times. She rattles off so many things so quickly that it is easy to miss something. I wish the road changes stayed up closer to that point on the track. I do like earning money and being able to buy different cars. We might even do a video series of Dirt 4.

I am thankful Family Friendly Gaming purchased a copy of Dirt 4 on the Xbox One. The PR and marketing people representing this game failed us completely. Their loss if you know what I mean. Dirt 4 is a rally video game I can actually get into. That means millions of members of Family Friendly Gaming Universe could also get into it. It was a pleasure to play and review Dirt 4.
