Grid

It is so cool that Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital download code for Grid on the Playstation 4 (PS4). This racing game is also on the PC, and Xbox One. Grid comes from Codemasters. That means two very important things. Grid looks really nice, and is difficult. Codemasters knows how to make tough racing games. Players must be on their toes every single turn of the races.

There are 104 career events across 12 race location in Grid. This racing game also includes 400 AI personalities. Some of the personalities are calm, and some of them are aggressive. I found I could force my way to the front of the pack most of the time. The weather effects in Grid are insane. Be careful going too far around tight corners in the rain. I went onto the grass a lot of times in Grid.

There are limited rewinds in Grid. If you make a major mistake then you will want to use one of your five rewinds. Other mistakes I had to accept due to the limited rewinds. This is why I like Forza Horizon better. That franchise lets me rewind and learn how to race better. Grid includes a guideline so we can see where to go and when to brake.

The modes in Grid are Career, Multiplayer, Free Play, Player Profile, Playstation Store, and Options. Grid does come in the physical copy format. The download size of Grid is 38.7 gigs. It took some time for this game to download. I enjoyed listening to the car sounds while playing Grid. This racing game is fun to play. I think it could be even better with some tweaks that make it more fun for casual and family gamers.

Crashing into objects in Grid can ruin your day. Frustration with the other drivers is a major part of Grid for me. At times I felt like I was getting more stressed than having any fun. Other times I broke through and got that win and felt good. It was a lot of work to win races in Grid. I see a future for this franchise.
