Legend of the Skyfish

Family Friendly Gaming was given a digital download code to Legend of the Skyfish on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS Vita. We only used the code for the Nintendo Switch. If you would like to see if the codes for the PS4 or PS Vita are still available then send us a whisper on our Twitch channel. You will most likely need to follow us on Twitch to be able to send a whisper. This downloadable only game is two hundred and eighty megs in size.

Visually Legend of the Skyfish reminds me of the 16-bit Legend of Zelda video games. We cannot destroy the grass in Legend of the Skyfish. The areas in Legend of the Skyfish are self contained so we are not walking back and forth between places. That was my immediate reaction to Legend of the Skyfish. Legend of the Skyfish looks better than a lot of recent indie games in my opinion. Especially ones going for a retro feel.

There are forty-five levels in Legend of the Skyfish with some mild puzzles to solve. We must battle bosses along the way. The cool concept in Legend of the Skyfish is the fishing rod. We use it to pull items and enemies to us. We also use the fishing rod to pull ourselves from little island to little island. The controls of this are a bit weird and take some time to get used to.

The storyline in Legend of the Skyfish revolves around fishermen fishing too deep and awaking some evil spiritual creature. That evil creature sends monsters after all of the people turning them into monsters. The main female character gets saved by some spiritual whale. We must destroy totems in Legend of the Skyfish. Legend of the Skyfish contains blood and violence.

Families into indie 16-bit games will find some fun in Legend of the Skyfish on the Nintendo Switch, PS Vita, PS4, and Xbox One. The fishing rod aspect of Legend of the Skyfish is what Legend of the Skyfish uses to stand out from the rest of the indie crowd in this genre. I enjoyed my time with Legend of the Skyfish.
